Getting EE keeper to work with IWD

Hi!

How to get the EE Keeper to work with IWD? I tried to follow the instruction in the thread, but it didn't let me select the language, neither what game it was. I entered it manually according to the example, but it didn't find any games. Help.

Sounds like you have an old version of EEKeeper, make sure you get the latest one.

@saox, what version of the game are you using? Steam, Beamdog, Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.?

@saox, if you are using the Beamdog client, then these are the instructions I use. I'll give two reference points; image and text instructions. If you get stuck on a particular bit then you can copy and paste the paths you are using to a new post here. I'll see if I can assist from there.

Step 1:

• Enter the name of your new profile. E.g. Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, or IWD:EE.
• Press 'Add'.

Step 2:

• Open your Beamdog client.
• Find the game in your library, right-click and press 'Open game location'.

Step 3:

• The Beamdog client will bring you to a location with some numbered folders, the game folder for the game you are looking for should be highlighted. Double click on the highlighted folder, or press the Enter key, to open that folder.
• You should see the folder location in the address bar at the top of the window. Right click on that and press Copy.
• The path should look something like this: E:\Program Files\BeamDog\Games\00798

Step 4:

• Back to Keeper, in the text box under Installation Directory, right click and press Paste.

Step 5:

• The language list should now be populated, pick your desired language.

Step 6:

• Browse to your Documents folder, find the game directory here—in this case you want Icewind Dale - Enhanced Edition—and open it (don't go any further than that; i.e. don't open save, mpsave, characters, portraits, etc.).
• You should see the location in the address bar. Right click on it and press Copy.
• The location should look something like this: C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Icewind Dale - Enhanced Edition\

Step 7:

• Back in Keeper, right click in the text box under User Save Data Directory and press Paste.

Step 8:

• Press Apply.

The thing I was doing wrong is that the last path name led to the /save directory!
