[#7030 not retroactive] Viconia Just Stops

It appears all commands are ignored. When moving it is as if she has become de-selected and fails to move to selected location. Repeated clicks are required to get her to move to the desired location. Tell her to heal someone; she won't move and the command is canceled. In combat she will not close and if in range (sling), stops her attack. So she won't attack or cast spells, she's useless.

All was fine until reaching the Abandoned Ampitheater and after hearing Hammerhelm's little speech.

After the final battle at the Heretic Temple she says something like "And in Shar's eyes I am surely damned". I actually felt bad for her. I think she shouldn't have come on Rasaad's quest. Regardless, the lost command condition did not correct itself after leaving the temple area.

    @RasterOps‌ was this a game started before the latest patch?

    & if you zip/attach a save I'll have a look. I think the following console command should work but not certain (mouse has to be over her when ENTER is pressed to update the variable).
    C:SetGlobal("cd_viccy_oh4000","LOCALS",3)

    Thanks

    @Gate70‌: Yes, this game was started before the latest patch. The attached save game is just prior to Hammerhelm's speech. I rested, went to hear his speech and then left for the Heretic Temple. It was at this time I noticed Viconia wouldn't move with the party.

    BTW, I reloaded at this save point and reformed the party w/o Viconia. After completing the Heretic Temple area I went back to Athkatla and added her to my party again. She's behaving just fine, so perhaps her bad behavior is specific to Rassad's quest.

    Yes, I can see her VICONIJ script in your save is different to the patched game, and if I set C:SetGlobal("cd_viccy_oh4000_timer","LOCALS",9999999) after she stops, she then behaves normally.

    If you're happy to continue with your booted/rejoined game that's probably the best option. Otherwise setting C:SetGlobal("cd_viccy_oh4000","LOCALS",0) after leaving the ampitheatre area should prevent this behaviour.
    Thanks

    I have the exact same problem, but with Rasaad, he stops and doesn't follow commands. It started right after the v1.3 upgrade patch thing and the game was started before the patch. Is there a comparable solution to this?

    Zip and attach a save @akjacobs1859‌ and we'll have a look.

    edit - could you make a new topic though please :)
    Thanks

    Should probably mention that this is a Mac version.
    Cheers!

    I should start this by saying that I have the Mac version.
    Right after the Ampitheater part of Rasaad's quest line, I immediately noticed a problem with Viconia. She doesn't move where she is supposed to, instead stopping before she reaches a selected destination, and it takes many, many clicks to get her anywhere at all.
    I'll end this by saying that I would appreciate any help with this, as my game is virtually unplayable at the moment.

    I tried the scenario again without Viconia in the party, and had her join afterward. The problem didn't seem to happen immediately in this case, but this changed after Viconia talked about the Rasaad's foolishness and the Twofold Trust. Immediately after the conversation, the bug occurred as it did before.

    @Trianglehead‌
    I've merged your report into the tagged thread, you appear to have discovered a workaround though. If you wanted to keep Viconia in the party for any reason, the console could be used to achieve this or zip and attach a save and I'll try to do this for you tomorrow.
    Thanks

    I've got the same problem. Fresh game started after the 1.3 patch; right after the conversation with Hammerhelm Viconia refuses to follow instructions.

    I've had a similar problem before with Viconia on different run-throughs, not a 'movement in group' issue but an 'attacking in group' problem where I had to individually select her in order to 'force' her to attack but the 1.3 patch seems to have fixed this so far (it was intermittent anyway and not linked to any particular point in the game).

    Just to add, I've tried both of these console commands and it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Guess I'm going to have to reload from a pre-Viconia save.

    EDIT: missed the bit about having the cursor over V when pressing enter. Now it seems to have worked...

    Dear @Gate70,

    I am afraid that I once again need your help. I am playing a party of 3 - CHAR, Rasaad and Viconia. I am romancing Viconia (pretty successfully so far). I had the same problem outlined in the opening post - after I spoke to that Helm guy, she started to abort move commands and would not attack.

    At first, I thought it was because she didn't like the area and the quest (she made that pretty clear), but I tried moving to my stronghold - nothing changed.

    I have the latest android version and from what I understand I cannot use the console.

    Is there anything you can do to fix this? I don't want to leave her out of the party - that might break the romance. Plus, I'd like her to gain the exp.

    I've attached my saved file. It is done just after the battle with the 4 amateurs in the bottom right corner.

    Thanks!

    p.s. The strangest thing is that I do have Rasaad in the party - yet in the savegame folder, only the portraits of CHAR and Viconia can be seen. Why is that?

    Try this @iamcelestial and my earlier comments here about being retroactive may not be right. Link to revised ticket for info.

    I'm not sure about why his portrait isn't in the folder.
    Thanks

    Thanks man! That was extremely quick! I will try it out now. I don't understand what you mean under "retroactive" bug?
  • iamcelestialiamcelestial Member Posts: 19
    @Gate70 I just tried it out - everything worked! I can also confirm that the romance hasn't been affected by the fix.

    I don't know about the banter between viccy and rasaad though. There hasn't been that much so far anyway.

    I am having this exact same issue, and no luck in using console commands to get around it. I have attached a save post-amphitheater and the fight with the tears of selune, would greatly appreciate the help :)

    Try this @rhone89 it looks like issue 11115 to me.
    Thanks

    Hello all,
    I am playing BG2 on an android device, and am having the same problem with Viconia's movement after the Rasaad temple quest. I don't have any recent earlier savegames, and can't open the counsel. Could someone be so kind as to fix the bug for me? Would be much appreciated.

    Edit: Also, how does one attach a zip file to this forum?
  • Gate70Gate70 Member, Developer Posts: 3,883
    Under the "Leave a comment" section where you type a post there is an "Attach a File". Only certain formats are accepted. For Android I use the ES File Explorer and the method would be;
    - Navigate to Home > Android > data > com.beamdog.baldursgateiienhancededition > files > save
    - Long-tap a folder such as 00000000-Auto-Save until a tick appears to the right of it.
    - Tap the vertical ... More at the bottom right.
    - Tap Compress. Choose Zip, Standard, leave password blank. Tap OK.

    Then one of;
    - Open a browser window and navigate to here. Attach the file.
    - Transfer the file to PC and attach from there.
