Carsomyr & Staff of the Magi - Dispel Magic caster level

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Hi,
I was wondering what is the caster level of the Dispel Magic from these two items:
Carsomyr
Staff of the Magi

I have read different opinions. Some says it is lvl 1, others lvl 20 or 30. Moreover, Carsomyr has Dispell Magic as to-hit ability and 3-times per day (is there a difference in caster lvl?).
Is there a way how to find information like this from the game by myself (without trying it), e.g. look to some files?

    IIRC, in vanilla game any dispel on hit effect simply dispels everything, no need for a lvl check. Arrow of dispelling, staff of magi and Carsomyr will dispel everything dispellable on a target, if they make contact. Protection from magic weapons will prevent this contact, however.

    3 times per day ability, I am not sure of, never used that.

    I think the 3 times per day ability dispels at level 30 in the vanilla game.

    Regarding arrows of dispelling: Back in the old days with vanilla, I recall trying to use these to dispell fear on my npcs who were running around with boots of speed and I couldn't get the spell to hit them. Figured they could take the arrow hit easy enough with minimal damage and could dispell the fear.
    No joy. Do the arrows only work on enemies?

    No, they should work perfectly on your party members. @CrevsDaak‌ mentioned this ingenious strategy in another thread. Maybe he knows more?

    Let me add the Ir'revrykal to the list as well. I equipped that and hit at some enemies with whirlwind attack figuring it would clear their magic protections away pretty easily and never had much success with it. Not sure how it works.

    Carsomyr +6 lists the level of dispell. It says the 3 times per day ability is at level 15 and the "on hit" ability dispels at level 30.

    Re; the arrows ( possibly the "Ir'revrykal" scenario as well) - My guys were pretty buffed, the arrows probably just weren't landing a hit I guess.
