#11136 The Slayer Change ability should not be available until after Irenicus flees Spellhold

With the latest game update Charname receives up to three Slayer Change abilities during his escape from Spellhold. The first ability is gained when changing into the Slayer while resting after the Bodhi encounter. The second ability is gained after defeating Irenicus in Spellhold. You'll receive the third ability after the dream sequence where you learn to control the taint.

I've attached several saves for reproduction. Take a rest in the first save to gain the first Slayer Change ability. Confront Irenicus with the Spellhold inmates to receive the second ability in the second save. You should gain it after defeating Irenicus. Rest again in the third save to gain the third and final Slayer Change ability.

The number of abilities will be corrected to one after actually using it, but you are already able to turn into the Slayer at will after the first rest after the Bodhi encounter.

Hmm, haven't looked yet but is the bug that the ability should not be present until after the third instance?

That's right. I should have stated it more clearly in my first post.

In the original BG2 and the earlier versions of BG2:EE (iirc) you're gaining the Slayer Change ability in the Candlekeep/Imoen dream sequence after defeating Irenicus in Spellhold. Currently, you can already turn into the Slayer at will after the uncontrolled Slayer transformation triggered when resting after the Bodhi encounter.

The only requirement in original BG2 was that you got the dream sequence with "Imoen" where she shows you how to change into the slayer. It was always possible to get this dream after the Bodhi encounter if you just waited long enough and rest spammed, even before chasing off Irenicus. But of course, you should not get the Slayer change ability before this dream sequence.

As far as I can remember from BG2 the ABILITY (as in clickable and controlable) wasn't gained until you rest AFTER having left Spellhold. It happens involuntarily twice before that, once in the final confrontation with Bodhi in the Spellhold dungeons and once if you rest after having finished the gauntlet, before you enter Spellhold proper again.

I just recently had this bug to, except I had it 3 times per day, either right after Bodhi or when I rested and woke up and turned into the slayer, it was either 2 of those moments and I already had 3, I was wondering if my berserk rage had anything to do with it because I could also use that ability 3 times per day as well, but when you hit ToB, it goes back down to 1
