do i have to be online to play single player?

topic pretty much explains it. Do I have to be online to play the single player game? This could be a make/break feature for me. Most of the time i will be playing, I won't have online capabilities.

no you don't have to, just launch the .exe from that path

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition\Data\00783

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition\Data\00783

You shouldn't have it installed in the Program Files folder, at least if you have any intention of adding some mods. The security systems in place can interfere.

You will have to be online to download it, though, but after installation I don't think there is any online requirements.

@ifupauline - It's just a general thing to keep in mind with newer Windows editions. I've never had any problems with it myself but I've seen plenty if folks who have.

Same. I just created C:\Games\ and install all of my non-steam games in there.

It's not the installing that can be the problem, it's getting them to function in the game. It's a commonly known issue with the Bethesda games, many people have problems getting mods to work if the games are installed in the Program Files folder. And the same issue will apply to these games, or any games that allow mods for that matter. If Windows thinks a file is the least bit suspicious it will move it to a virtual folder, not the actual Program Files one. So a game may not be able to access it from there.

I usually play in "offline mode" or completely disconnected from the internet. Shouldn't be a problem.

BG2 is not an MMORPG, so the answer is no. You don't have to be online.
