Bow and crossbow for noobs

I would like to Know how bow and crossbaw work in term of their lvl of enchantement for example does a +4 bow with normal arrow hit has +4 weapon?

only the arrow counts for hitting aas a magical weapon unless it makes it's own ammo in which case it uses the launcher's enchantment.

e.g. Firetooth + 4 hits as a +4 weapon because it generates it's own ammo.
