HP on level up

im getting maximum hp on every level up, and I don't want it to be automatic like that....is there a setting to change this? I don't have any mods installed....

You must be playing on normal or easy. play on core or higher difficulty and you won't get max hp per level

This was changed to highest hp on level up with the 1.3 patch, I think. There is a way to change this, but you have to edit the files. Try a search

can anyone add more here? I cant find notes on the edit, and i couldn't find anything in the patch notes

Find the baldur.ini file in the game's documents subfolder (documents/Baldur's Gate 2 - Enhanced Edition, for example). Open baldur.ini and find the part where it says

'Game Options', 'Maximum HP', '1'.

Change the 1 to a 0. It should now read

'Game Options', 'Maximum HP', '0'

Save and close baldur.ini. That should do it.
