New RP Idea I had! The Fey Knight!

VallmyrVallmyr Member, Mobile Tester Posts: 2,459
So I was reading the handbook for 5e and came across a paladin subclass-thing called a Fey Knight (Or Green Knight). It's like a nature warrior of the Old Faith or something.

My first question is (and this is a joke), are Green Knights immune to decapitation?

My second and actual question is what do you guys think the Baldur's Gate version of such an idea would be? Maybe a Fighter/Mage that focuses on charm and Illusion spells? Maybe Fighter/Druid to be more in line with nature gish idea?

A third question is if I was doing a nature themed party what Party members should I bring (both for BG1 and BG2)? I imagine Jaheira and Khalid would be obvious but what of the others?

Also, this is one of the few threads I've made that aren't necromancer themed. Maybe I'll finally play something that isn't a necromancer this time around! XD

    Only if they're headless Dullahans.

Wizard Slayer fits the theme better I think. Considering that some lovestruck Mage imprisoned a Dryad in Baldur's Gate 1 and another one wants the very same Dryad for spell components. And there's always Irenicus with his little harem. Yup, Wizard Slayer all the way!

Any hobby gardeners you come across. And Faldorn.

Uhm... since that class is not a 2nd AD&D class I would EEKeeper a Dual Fighter/Ranger or a Multi Fighter/Ranger/Druid but I have no idea of what could happen. XD

Other than Jaheira and Khalid you could add Faldorn, Kivan, Minsc (and Dynaheyr if you want an arcane spellcaster) for BGI, but you'll need a thief, Imoen might fit, or maybe Coran. :)

For BGII I would go for Jaheira, Minsc, Valygar, Mazzy and Cernd, then at least an arcane spellcaster and a thief, but you might have a hard time with just a mage, so you should consider removing at least two of the first five NPCs I told you to free a slot for another arcane spellcaster (unless you're planning to pick up dualed Imoen).

Can you even do that in EEKeeper?

Might as well go EEKeepering an Elven Blackguard then. The thought of creating an Fey'ri Knight sounds rather appealing. To me personally that is.

On a side note... didn't the Fey hate the gods and divine casters alike? I remember reading this somewhere, but I just can't seem to pinpoint the source of this in my memory.

From the way you describe it I'd just make a Fighter/Druid. Or maybe EE a Druid/Ranger. WotC keeps coming out with all these special class that essitially do the same job as any decently put together multiclass and I keep wondering why.

Their "when an attack reduces you to 0 hp or less, drop to 1 hp instead" ability is totally SGGK-inspired or I will eat my shoes. Pity it explicitly doesn't work on attacks that kill you outright.

Stat-wise, I'd go with a fighter/druid, EEkeepered to be good-aligned (since green knights celebrate life, joy, and goodness in all its forms).
