Bandit Camp

My half-orc is not very subtle; his cunning plan was to just walk into the bandit camp and kill everything in sight. The subtlety of tricking his way into the enemy camp was rather beyond him. Hence, he killed Teven when they met. OK, I figured next step would be heading to the bandit camp. However, when I tried leaving Peldale in various directions, no such option appeared. I tried going to the Ankheg farm first and backtracking from there, but no luck. How can I find the bandit camp now?

If I recall there are a number of bandit encounters. If you kill them all you'll be able to just walk there.

I think there are at least 2 other ways to get the bandit camp placed on your map. The most common way is to confront Tranzig in Feldpost's Inn in Beregost. The other way is to go to the area between the Friendly Arm Inn and Beregost and look around the area of a semi circle of wagons. You should encounter a group of bandits and one of them will surrender if you kill him last and he will tell you where the camp is.

peldvale and larswood, both have one group of bandit baddies the will initiate the dialogue option for going to the camp ( after you complete the naskiel mines) but you kill them the map option won't come up, if you kill both of them, your only option is to find tranzig in feldpost's inn and deal with as you wish, after that, the map option will come up

I wonder if that was added in EE? never tried that in the vanilla

No bandits offered to surrender, even though I put away weapons and beat the last one unconscious with my fists, but the Tranzig option worked. Thanks!

You had to kill the named one last (or charm him). This wasn't added in EE.

That bandit encounter had a really annoying feature where if you talk to the bandit who wants to surrender then the bandit leaders in Larswood and Peldvale would no longer spawn. Spent ages once wandering around the woods trying to find Teven and wondering why he wasn't appearing anywhere.

@Pingwin That is not something that encounter is scripted to do... I suspect something else may have caused that to happen... You didn't visit the bandit camp before looking for those two did you?

I had the same experience as @Pingwin. When Deke surrenders and puts the location of the camp on your map, neither Teven nor Raiken would show up in Larswood and Peldvale. I'm really curious whetether there's something else that prevents them to spawn, since when Tranzig puts the location on your map those two will still show up.

    I did nashkel mines >
    the guy in feldspot inn>
killed both groups in larswood + peldvalee>
    went to bandit camp.

My cunning plan was using "Berserk" and rampage those puny bandits. It worked well.

Just to clarify, it was in the original BG/TotSC when I had the bandit leaders failing to spawn after talking to Deke. Don't know if it is different in BG:EE. It was quite some time ago but I'm positive that I tried going back to an earlier save and confirmed that it was definitely talking to Deke that caused the issue.

As for the original question, I'd always assumed that the bandit leaders/bandit group with Deke would only spawn after you've "talked" to Tranzig.

They are scripted to spawn upon entry to chapter 3.

... and IIRC, to de-spawn at the end of chapter 3 if you haven't yet met them.

I haven't checked, but it would make more sense if they were to despawn upon your entry to the bandit camp.
