in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Does the death of a romanceable character still end the romance? Like, if Aerie died during a normal combat does that mean my romance with her is shot?

    No, unless it is something that causes her to leave the party. (i.e. Petrification.) In Throne of Bhaal even leaving the party won't mess up the romance.

    Actually has any recent updates applied ToB rules to SoA as well?

    @Heindrich I believe they fixed the original romances so that they aren't ended by death/petrification/imprisonment. The new romances are certainly not ended by death/petrification/imprisonment.
