What happens to certain "events" on chapter 7?

So i am about to step in the elven city, and was interrupted by Degardan who was searching for edwin, of course i acted like i didnt know him and he left. Well according to certain guides Degardan will be back in 2 days.

I am wondering what happens if i start chapter 7. Will degardan come back? Or will Edwin forever remain edwina? Do these events continue on chapter7(Like Elminster showing up last time for jaheira etc.)

    you should complete everything before chapter 7.
