Tranzig is missing, but not dead

I am playing BG: Enhanced Edition via Steam. I have completed chapter 3 but Tranzig has not appeared on the second floor of Feldepost's Inn. I looked through my done quests and I don't think I accidentally killed him. Any suggestions of how to deal with this problem? Thanks.

Just to clarify: Which chapter are you currently in? If you are in chapter 4 then Tranzig shouldn't be there anymore.

CreateCreature worked great. Thanks a lot!

Err... For you to get to chapter 4 then you would have to have completed the bandit camp area...

In the interest of finding out what is going on here could you upload your save file to the forums? Just zip the entire "000000####-your save name" folder and upload that.

Tresset, where can I find that folder in Steam's directory on a Windows machine?

I assume it would actually be in your 'documents' folder.

No such luck. I did find a data directory full of .bif files. Are they what you are referring to?

If you see .bif you are in the wrong place. The file path should look something like the following:
    C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\Save

I was looking in the wrong Document directory

I am also using the Saradas Revisioned Shapeshifter mod. It is the only mod I have installed.

Hmm... Something very strange is going on here... You are in chapter 4 when you should actually be in chapter 3. Have you used EEKeeper or console commands to change global variables? I can't imagine this being a bug with a game that hasn't been messed with...

I've used the console to create items, gold, and to reveal the environment, but nothing else that I know of. Fat fingers can accomplish bizarre things. I have not used EEKeeper at all.

Hmm, very strange... Did you notice anything unusual happen around the time you killed Mulahey?

Regardless, it may be a bit late now, but I would suggest entering the following console command before you run into any further bugs.

    C:SetGlobal("Chapter","Global","3")

I *may* have seen two cut screens instead of one after killing Mulahey. My memory is fuzzy (there was no need to pay attention) and one of the cut screens may have had more than one image which would confuse things even more. Other than that I haven't done anything weird.

Basic overview: I finished almost all the mini quests before going into the mines, with the exception of the Firewine Bridge and Ulcaster. I have not been to Durlag's Tower of Ulgoth's.

    I have Malahey's scrolls.

One last thing: I waited several days before going back to Beregost, during which time I finished the quests in the north.

I am not sure what to make of this one. I can see no reason for your game being in chapter 4 but I cannot deny the fact that it is. There has to be something else going on here...

    I knew I had gremlins...

Well, not much can be done other than to set your game back on the proper course...

If you haven't already entered Tazok's tent at the bandit camp then make sure to use the console command I gave you in my above post before you continue playing. Here it is a again:

    C:SetGlobal("Chapter","Global","3")

If you enter this command in it should prevent any further bugs.
