So I was wondering what effects this sword protects against, all psionic attacks seems kinda vague ... anyone know exactly what attacks this protects against. Mind flayers of course but anything else??

Immunity to Confusion, Domination...etc. Umber Hulks as well.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it helps against Domination.

The protection against "psionic attacks" means an Illithid's "Psionic Blast" attack. Separately it also protects against Confusion (and I'm fairly sure that automatically includes Chaos as well). But that's it, AFAIK. Still, when you're up against Illithids and/or Umber Hulks, it's the right tool for the job.

I am thinking your right and this is probably the case. Though the Chaos immunity is very interesting. I would like to know from someone who can see how the Sword's immunity actually works. I will attempt to summon @Tresset hopefully he may be willing to tell me truth of it once and for all..

The sword grants complete immunity to the confusion opcode. This will make you immune to all forms of confusion including chaos, rigid thinking, and umber hulk confusion among others.

In addition to this the sword grants protection from a specific list of "spell" resources that are used as psionic abilities. In layman's terms it will make you immune to certain specific abilities which are commonly used by psionic creatures. Most of these abilities are used by only two types of creatures: Illithid and Githyanki. If you encounter an illithid or githyanki that cast spells (which few do) the sword will not make you immune to the spells being cast (unless they are confusion spells) but it will protect you from their innate psionic abilities. It is actually somewhat difficult to explain exactly how this sword works to those unfamiliar with the workings of the game engine so I will try not to confuse you with too many facts. Just assume that "immunity to psionics" translates to "immunity to abilities used by githyanki and illithid". To this end the sword protects from illithid domination and githyanki domination, but it does not protect from the domination spell or vampire domination.
