Imoen's Dexterity Score of 18 doesn't grant her any bonus to her Thieving Skills.

    Are you sure? Her starting total is 140 skill points, which matches the starting points for a human thief with an 18 DEX.

    Er, well... My bad then! Could be that I was under the impression because I read in different forums that Algernon's Cloak would be pickpocketable with her starting skill when in fact that isn't the case in the current game's version. (Worked with a skill of 50 though.)

    You could pickpocket his cloak in vanilla BG with her starting pickpocket skill, but they changed the minimum to 50 in BGEE.

    I usually buy a Potion of Perception from Thalantyr early on so Imoen or Monty can steal the cloak and then loot nearly every container in Beregost within the potion's six-hour duration.
