How does hidespl.2da work ?

MusignyMusigny Member Posts: 1,027
What is the meaning or impact of the is_hidden and is_final flags ?
It looks like is_hidden set at 1 and is_final set at 0 makes the spell selectable when a (n)pc levels up but what is the overall/complete meaning of each setting ?
Thanks.

    IS_HIDDEN means the spell will not be available for sorcerers to choose at level up (or mages to choose at creation. EDIT: And priest Quest spells.

    IS_FINAL tells the engine to stop looking for usuable spells at that level - i.e., if you set SPWI150 with IS_FINAL = 1, then the game won't check HIDESPL.2DA for SPWI151, SPWI152, SPWI153 ... SPWI199 to see if they should be offered at level up. It will skip them automatically, even if they don't have IS_HIDDEN set to 1.

    @AstroBryGuy
    Many thanks for the explanation!
    I misread the file and I mistook spwi0xx for spwi1xx in the game file. I was lost. Thanks for your help.
