They all sound orchestral to me... Except the last one, that sounds more new age (at least the first minute does). The third one's got more of a rock sound (orchestral rock?) as well.
But I'm no music expert, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. :P
@Shandyr, I agree with @Nonnahswriter. Most of it sounds like it falls under the general umbrella of "new age". I hear a lot a celtic influence in it.
Are you familiar in Germany with the artist Enya? If you like this music, you'd probably enjoy most of hers. I find it very peaceful and comforting. Here are two of her most popular early videos:
Yeah, I feel like you would like enya, if you don't already shandyr. These are soundtrack. (Was "HDsoundi original soundtrack" a hint? :P)Even if they're not used as an actually soundtrack, they're made to sound like it; epic, amazing exhilarating, etc. They all start with a simple, repetitive melody and build on it with increasing volume and orchestration, and a strong drum beat. It's usually produced wholly on a computer, and used for action trailers and commercials, the like. Two Steps from Hell is probably t he biggest name in the genere, they've produced a lot of music. This is one of their most popular songs, it's been used in countless movies, TV shows and ads. I'd be surprised if you did t recognize it, at least vaguely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRLdhFVzqt4 Honestly, I think these are kinda a dime a dozen. I have a friend who's super into it and I never understood. They all kinda sound the same.
These are my favorite enya songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n08JRxVLKLE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e60Ujf3-OE I usually wouldn't listen to something like this but enya(as far as I know) invented the genere, and I the she can pull it off. I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard of her- she did "may it be" and some other stuff for lord of the rings.
Usually my folky/orchestral music is metal... good, big, 'has to be played earsplittingly loud' metal.
Adulruna Rediviva is worth checking out, much moreso if you've been into Fullmetal Alchemist. They are both inspired by he scientist/quack Paracelsus... who is worth reading about too. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5dCLnGCcya4 Pretty long, and pretty nifty vid.
