Max HP rolls on Core Rules?

I've noticed that all my HP rolls are max with Core Rules selected in the difficulty option.

I can still fail at memorizing spells though.

This is confusing because "Normal" still specifies that HP rolls are maximum, and to my knowledge Core Rules weren't supposed to behave like that even in BGII

I have SCS installed, but I had SCS throughout my BGI run as well and HP rolls were not maxed.

Is this intentional?

Hey, @FinaLfront , what you're experiencing, is a buggish behavior brought by the last 1.3 patch for BG2EE.

You have to check your baldur.ini file for this:

'Game Options', 'Maximum HP', '1',

and change the 1 to 0.

As of version 1.3, it's 1 by default. According to Dee, it's an oversight.
