Vhailor's Helm Simulacrum disappearing when original is hit?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I take it this ain't supposed to happen?
Whenever I use the Simulacrum ability from the helm, as soon as the original takes damage the copy instantly goes poof!

    Do you mean you use the helm and the moment that original character is hit the copy is destroyed?

    @elminster I remember that being a known issue. All forms of Simulacrums, Misleads, and Project Images disappear when the caster is hit. It should be only Project Images that have this behavior.

    Sadly this bug actually stopped my Berserker->Shadowdancer run because it was affecting the Shadow Twin HLA. I would rather not continue that run until the bug is fixed.

    Well... I guess it's another use for Firetooth Dorn + Poison weapon then.
    As a side note, if the enemy has see invis like a demon/dragon, does the simulacrum get instantly dispelled as well?

    Does this always happen? Should submit a bug report so it gets fixed for next patch.

    Please don't. As tresset pointed out this has already been reported.
