IWD2 Multiplayer and Mods

Hello everyone :)

I've joined a some of friends of mine in their IWD2 multiplayer session yesterday.
We are currently all using the vanilla GOG versions of the game in combination with GameRanger.

Now I was wondering if installing the G3 widesceen mod and any other GUI related mods would lead to multiplayer problems. I mean, mods like these don't change the game on a content level or such (i'd imagine, at least), but I thought I'd ask before proceeding.
