Hangs several times during begining

in IWD:EE Bugs (v1.4.0)
So I just bought the game and downloaded it. Playing TCP (alone) Started and it hangs in the first saloon.
restarted:
hangs in cellar clearing the 4 insects
restarted:
hangs when i fight wolf in askels wolf carving shop.
after it hangs and I have to alt shift delete to get out of it the error message says click here (to beamscope support) but the URL is dead.
Is this typical?
Should I just dump the game - eat my $10 and be satistfied just playing my old original IWD ?
BG.ee works okay.

    Hi
    Are you on PC, Mac, Android, etc. e.g. PC graphics card drivers or restarting Android can make a difference.
    & if you are playing in Multiplayer mode I'd say try Single player instead.
