Slow map scrolling in EEs, Windows Vista

The modded games from GoG work fine on my PC, but the EEs scroll slowly on both of my laptops, my desktop and on a friend's desktop. When I push the cursor around the map, it just moves slowly. It doesn't work this way on my Android tablet or even my Android phone.

Am I doing something stupid to make it lag? I'll still buy any EEs that come out to support interest in these games, but it would be nice to be able to play them. As it stands, I prefer the modded versions without the lag.

    Have you checked the keyboard scroll speed and mouse scroll speed under Gameplay -> Options?
