Is that a cave?

In the pictures you can see something that looks like a cave opening, but you can't enter it. It's always been there, even in the original game, but you've never been able to enter it. Is that a cave opening, or just a strange shading on that rock?

It's an indentation in the rock, but not big enough to enter it and stand inside.

There is nothing there, it is just a strange shadow. However it really looks like an entrance. A quest mod or two adds new areas to there, making it a real cave entrance. I remember fighting a spider loving sorceress and her pets inside there, for a magical sigil in her posession. IIRC it was Stone of Askavar mod. (Not ee-compatible afaik)
