Are there any Clerics that can use longswords?

I`m not clear, if there are any Clerics that can use longsswords in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition 2...

    You can choose the Cleric of Helm - they get the Seeking sword as a special ability.

    Also, in BG2 if you're a paladin you begin to get divine spells, so maybe such a character can serve as a cleric with swords for you.

    Druids can use scimitars, which isn't exactly what you're looking for but possibly close.

    In this edition the rules on weapons are very restrictive. Clerics can't use bladed weaponry.

    A high level cleric/thief can use a sword (Use Any Item HLA) but (s)he will remain non-proficient though.
    Probably not what you are looking for unless you have a very specific dual wielding build in mind.

    Of course, unless a Cleric/Thief is a dual-classed Human, you won't be able to spend proficiency points in bladed weapons, which results in a penalty on attack rolls using them. This penalty is not exactly negligible considering the THAC0 progression of Clerics compared to warrior classes.

    As far as clerics that can use bladed weapons go I would say look into cleric kit mods. There are probably some out there that allow it.

    Or use ashes of embers mod it makes all weapons usable by all who has minimum str/dex needed. Proficiency is still forbidden, though.

    Druids of Mielikki in PnP can even choose a weapon that they can be proficient in, that isn't normally allowed for druids. Even Longswords.

    Maybe one day, we will get that (kit).
