Montaron - Peter Dinklage (lol), only menacing witty short guy I know. Xzar - David Tennant Jaheria - Mila Jovovich Minsc - Dwyane Johnson Kivan - Christian Bale, because Bale always plays the tortured guy
@Xavioria: Do you mean Fat Actress Kirstie Alley, Cheers Kirstie Alley or Wrath of Khan Kirstie Alley?
Are we saying in terms of fantasy, as in they can be actors in any time period of their life? Or are we talking making a movie now, and they have to be the current real age and appearance? Because Kirstie Alley and Vin Diesel are way too old to play those respective parts.
Bas Rutten would be awesome for Minsc. As would Vin Diesel. But I agree with other posters that they are both a bit too long in the tooth for the role now. Too bad.
I actually won't be surprised if a BG movie gets made one day. It is certainly standing the test of time as a computer game. It's almost universally regarded as the best high fantasy CRPG ever crafted, still, to this day. There's a whole generation of highly desirable consumers that grew up playing the game. And now a new generation will be introduced. (I think they do need to get the EEs developed for console platforms as well, to ensure the continued longevity and popularity of this venerable game.)
As CGI becomes more increasingly affordable for independent studios, more and more becomes possible.
I've always seen the wonderful Wallace Shawn (Grand Nagus, Deep Space Nine; Blair's Stepfather, Gossip Girl) as Jan Jansen. If he's going to be Tiax, which is actually a pretty good idea, then maybe Armin Shimmerman (Quark, Deep Space Nine) could be Jan.
I apologize for double posting, but for convenience in the thread, I'd like to reprint the command for embedded photos here, because I just had to learn to do it, and I think other people might be wanting to learn as well.
It's not hard once you get the hang of it:
< img src=http:etc.etcwhatever >
Get rid of any img or /img commands around the address. Do not put spaces between the < > signs - I had to do that in my example so the board wouldn't confuse it with an actual image command.
That "img src" stands for "image source", which may help you remember it.
LOLz. Can Brian Urlacher play Minsc? I think he could!
Urlacher looks the part, but he's a terrible actor. Have you seen the cameo part he had on According to Jim? He couldn't even do that small part convincingly.
As mentioned earlier, I think i can definitely see Wallace Shawn as Tiax and with a bit of convincing Armin Shimmerman as Jan. I also like the choice of my boy Lennox Lewis as Valygar for bg2 movie...but like urlacher, he's no actor. Also though she's getting up in age to be able to portray her properly(barring a good makeup job), always saw Nalia as being portrayed by drew barrymore. How about Marina Sirtis as Jaheira.

one man production, the only solution to appease my geekyness.
Edit - as it's a movie it'd be a film of the staged version.
Kivan - Edward Norton
Also, Larry David for Quayle. That would seal the deal for me.
Off-topic, I know, but I have to check discussions all the time to see if people respond to my rubbish. Gets on my tits
Just sayin'.

Thx a lot !! now works

Sadly, I think Michael Clarke Duncan (RIP) would've been a good Sarevok.
When these topics come up, Alyson Hannigan is almost the universal choice to play Imoen.
Ralph Fiennes - Jon Irenicus
