I'll be importing my Evil Powergaming Party. Maximum level, maximum badass
Ralof - an elven Fighter/Mage/Thief - Equiped with 2 longswords and a handful of defensive magic. Maximum level. THAC0 10-7 ish AC -1 standard but -4 to -16 in combat. With the right potions and by borrowing Dorns platemail I can easily manage to get above -20 AC.
Dorn - Blackguard. Equiped with a warhammer +2 (the golden one, the name slipped my memory) and shield. Maximum level. THAC0 6-7 ish AC -6
Kagain - Dwarf. Equiped with an Axe +2 and a shield. THAC0 8 AC - 5
Viconia - Cleric - Equiped with Drizzt armor and slings. She mostly focuses on buffing, and enchantmens (Hold, Rigid thinking). Remove fear against mages, defensive harmony and protection from evil 10 rad against other enemies, but it doesn't change much.
Edwin - Mage - Equiped with standard gear, nothing special. Great range of spells for most situations, but after finishing the game and Durlag, he is almost useless as my fighters kill litterly everything in a matter of seconds. The only spells he is using is disableing spells, such as horror, slow, Emotion, Sleep etc.
Tiax - Cleric/Thief - The only spells he uses are Dispel Magic, Reaminate Undead (skeletons) and Hold peron. He also summons a ghast / goul with his special ability.
Now that sure is powergaming. I just can't do that, because it's already quite easy after finishing the game a few times. If I powergamed I would just run through the whole game in a couple of days. I prefer to let Khalid get butchered every once in a while and to have to run to the nearest temple with the rest of my party overloaded with his gear.
The standard team I use to run my PC to BG2 on my no reload runs:(But now with more shaman!)
PC: Shaman - not sure on weapons, maybe a staff and sling. I like druids and I like sorcerers, so the way I hear shamans work interest me greatly.(Fingers crossed for some possible new Druid Spells from Icewind Dale.)
Jaheira - The tank with Dagger of Venom and Shield. She is always my throughout the series.(Well dual wielding in BG2 that is)
Khalid - My archer. I tend to keep him lightly armored until later in the game and always keep him away from anything that would make him run around in circles with his low life moral issues.
Minsc - Because Minsc. Heavily armored and swinging a two-handed sword like the gods intended.
Dynaheir - Also, because Minsc. She can play with all the wands and invis Imoen for stealth trap runs and backstabbing.
Imoen - My Thief, support archer and backstabber.(And siren bait)
With the experiences limit of SoD, Coran can replaced Imoen as a pure thief. All you need is a Mithril Chain +4 and u get a character that could replace both Kivan + Imoen altogether.
I gave Coran the tome of Dex (raised to 21) and by the end of BG1 exp cap (89K), he performed pretty good as a thief. I have to admit i got him when he was lvl 3 though.
Giving him DEX tome was perfect as it raise all his thieving skills, his Thac0 with bows, and most importantly, his base AC. He is the only character that could hit a clean base of 5.
anyway for my party. I will start with:
Hector (CG Half-Orc Berserker with max stats for STR, DEX, CON, CHA) Kagain (Best NPC for Throwing Axe +2, he is a beast with DEX gauntlet, Big fisted belt, and GM for Axe) Coran (As mentioned, best candidate for LBow of Marksman +2) Kivan (Who doesnt love him? Great NPC with Cbow+1) Branwen (A decent cleric that rocks with sling+3 and Gauntlet of Ogre Power) Neera (One of the better good alignment wizard)
1/2 elf F/T Max STR, CON, DEX, CHA, Crossbows for long range, staff for backstab/melee as my CHARNAME, dudes pretty much a hoss.
Ajantis as my main tank rolling sword and board, with all the best defensive equipment and the girdle of dexterity/big fisted belt
Minsc, as my puncher swinging his blade into evil's backside (and frontside, basically any side really)
Dynaheir, mostly because of Minsc and because I'm not really powergaming so I haven't let her charge a basilik.
Viconia as a sling wielding warrior priestess and future squeeze of yon 1/2 elf. Suprisingly Ajantis hasn't chunked her. Possibly due to Charnames CHA?
Coran: His business is Archery and business is good.
Unfortunately we stopped in Durlag's Tower waiting for the patch to come out so the level cap increases (ok maybe I am mildly powergameing)
I think I will install SoD and then start a new game from Candlekeep to ToB.
Kaliber the Cavalier of Candlekeep. Protector of Parchment. Knight of Books. Lord of...you get the idea. He's a 98 point tank with 2 ranks in two handed fighting style, two handed sword, and quarterstaff. Later on he will wear 2 rings of fire protection making him 100% immune to fire all the time. Wade into combat, and his allies will nuke the area with arrows of detonation and the necklace of fireballs.
The first thing I'll do is drop Imeon off at Firebeads (Firebeard?), where she can study magic and be safe. Knowing that I am the target of deadly assassins, I wouldn't dare jeopardize the closest person left in my life! As I find people I know I can trust, I'll drop them off there as well (Khalid, Minsc, Dynaheir, Jaheira, Atjanis, and of course Boo). They can help contain the bandit raids in and around Beregost until we meet again.
I'll travel with various NPCs until finally:
Kivan. Deadly sniper, great scout, and halberds are great fun.
Yeslick. Dumb. So dumb. But tough and wise.
Alora. Not sure why a thief would take one rank in 2 weapon style but uhhhh ok. Then again, after I make her strength a permanent 19 with a belt (+3 to hit) and equip gauntlets (+1 to hit), those penalties (-2 main -6 secondary) will not be a hopeless liability.
That's right, no mage. I don't like mages. Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling.
An important point for me would be, if Imoen is not available, making sure that I can get Robes of the Archmage or an equivalent for Charname and another Mage in party.
One of my keys is that Wand of the Heavens is one of the most undervalued offensive assets in the game. Very few NPCs have resistance to it. Thus 2 Clerics.
I'll probably roll something up in Excel and choose my character from the stats. Then I'll pick up my party based on that. I'll almost certainly grab Imoen, Jaheira and Khalid, but the other two slots will depend on what I'm playing.
I was thinking on trying a Mental Health Unit runthrough:
Charname (Jester: Psychosis that leads to a "Folie à Deux" or group psychosis with the enemies) Minsc (Delusional disorder) or Khalid (Generalized Axiety Disorder) Tiax (Delusional disorder) Eldoth (Narcisistic Personality disorder) Montaron (Antisocial personality disorder) Xzar (Dissociative personality disorder) or Xan (Dysthymic disorder)
Right now it feels like an awesome though quite black-humored idea. Once in SoD I would try to diagnose one of the new NPCs to see if he fits in.
@Winterisle ~Great idea!! Suggests a whole new POV on Jaheira's Goodberry spell. Which has always been one of the biggest jokes in the game, primarily because of the dramatic vocals that accompany its casting.

An interesting concept, however, in what way is Minsc delusional?
He talks to a hamster. One would say that the fact that he believes that Boo is a miniature giant space hamster is completely delusional, but some people believe this is true.
In any case, the fact that he looses his temper and goes berzerk could get him diagnoses with Impulse Control Disorder instead!
I'm curently play evil (powergaming) party which includes: 1) Charname: Human Assasin equiped with longsword and shorbow. Specialist in backstabs and pickpocketing. 2) Dorn: Equiped with 2h Sword and longbow. 3) Viconia: Eguiped with The Stupefier + shield and sling. 4) Safana: Equiped with Icingdeath and light crossbow of speed. Specialist in finding traps and open locks. 5) Baeloth 6) Edwin
Baeloth + Edwin are just ridiculous together. Maybe I change Safana for Tiax if I reach Baldur's Gate. I'm in bandit camp now. It's pretty easy on normal rules difficult. My Assasin already have x4 multipler.
