Weird Letter in BG1

It can be found at various places in BG1 and it is worth 100 gold pieces. It says:
"Why does a chair have arms and legs like a man but cannot walk or hold things."
So does anyone know if this letter has some hidden meaning or function?

I've never managed to come up with an answer to the riddle either (but then I am not entirely convinced there is one).
EDIT: Does wood sink in water?
Was the letter found in High Hedge or another place where golems are?

I especially liked how he charmed people and got them to kill themselves, or charmed them, polymorphed them and then killed them so no one went hostile.
