hit point cap

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
recently hit level 12 and notice hp is no longer increasing as max. only +2 per level now. normal or is something bugged ?

    Normal AD&D rules for hit points. Characters gain 1 hit die per level up to level 9 (or 10 for mages and rogues), then a fixed amount per level after that.

    this is also the same of the bg series as well

    In IWD2 and NWN 1, which uses 3rd edition rules, characters keep gaining full hit dice forever, able to have 300-400 hit points at high levels. 2nd edition approach, which bg1, bg2 and iwd 1 plays by its rules, limits this hp sky rocketing and is a bit more belieavable.
