It doesn't even faze me. Call me a cynic, but I generally expect products to be released several months after their planned release date, with multiple delays.

Wow, no way, if you can pre-order it, then it's not unfair to expect it to be released on the date you were told it would be.

This is literally the first time I've pre-ordered anything, let alone a game. Leaves a pretty sour taste in your mouth.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game ends up shipping before November 30th.

I'm not so sure it will, since, like it mentioned, it will make 14 years to the day since initial relase, although it wouldn't be a terribly big surprise.

I'll wager it will be ready before then at any rate.

And still we have talks about delays :p

Just... hang out, everything will be fine.
*two months later - meteor shower on earth*
Worry not, EVERYTHING IS FI-- *asplodes*

One can but hope but I would settle for a release of a polished product on November 30th with a pre announced and available pre load before that date. I have no doubt that a lot of hard work is going on at the moment to deliver on time.

Hm. It's still two months, but what about this tweet: Trent is saying that "Dorn is coming we're just working his VO over" (24th September) - does that mean the voicing isn't even done?

If the game be pushed back again , i believe it must be " Bladur's Gate 3"

I was disappointed by the first delay. A second, however, probably won't faze me either. I've gotten over it and am less excited than I was. Maybe I'll get excited again at Thanksgiving.

@darrenkuo : you think Overhaul will pull a Half-Life 3 tactic? That would be serious business XD

May be the way to meet announced release date is temporary dropping touch interface support (iPad), screen scaling, much less popular Mac and so on?

May be covering up to 90% of requests (PC users) would be a doable goal to start with?

yeah i think November 30 is including a safety margin for the release. a little over 2 months may seem like a lot of time, but i prefer it rather than have them announce it sooner with a risk of having it delayed again. i don't mind waiting for a while, its having your expectations raised for a particular date and not getting it which bothers most people. take your time guys, we know its worth the wait

Wow ... I mean that wouldn't effect me, but that really is a douche-y comment.

It sure isn't nice, but other companies do this - say Star Command, which is coming out first for iOS, and some weeks after that for PC. I think it's okay to do this if there is a reason for it.

I think the people working on it are grateful for the extra breathing room, and I think it will be done on time.

November 30th, 1998 was when Baldur's Gate originally released 14 years ago, I doubt they would want to miss a date like that.

I did not know that. That's really cool.

I would certainly not hope that could be the case!
Though I've already pre-ordered, and plan to play on my pc, I'm very much looking forward to playing BG:EE on my iPad too, with saves floating in a steady flow between my iPad and pc..

Lots of iPad users are looking forward to this game, I frequent iOS forums where that fact is very obvious.
Also, There's many, many more Mac users than there used to be.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the sales on these platforms will rival those made on the pc release.
That being said, a lot of younger iPad gamers may be put of by the brutal difficulty and immersion requirements of the game compared to most, if not all, other iOS games. And modern games in general.. :-)
But, at that point, they'll have bought the game, and Beamdog's wallet and future will be fatter and brighter..

Contiguous releases just mean a whole lot less butthurt.

And as @Bytebrain said, I think the iOS and Mac versions of this game will sell very well. I recall Beamdog saying that one of the points that convinced their BG higher-ups to let them do this game, was the concept of putting it on iPad.

I noticed that. I could be wrong, but @TrentOster means the 28th is the date where it HAS to be ready, but the release is still scheduled for the 30th.

Am I the only one excited about the delay? lol

To be it means they are serious about making a good product, otherwise they would have just released it, and patched it up over time....

Hell I'd rather wait another 4-5 months for a perfect game with more features then get in in No to be honest.

Well, I'm happy they are trying for a good product, I support that, and by all means I'd rather wait for a good product than to be disappointed by a rushed one, but I must say, the delay made me feel like a kid who was told Christmas was cancelled.

to be honest, I've only just heard about BG:EE (and immediately threw money at beamdog in a fit of excitement) not worried about when the game is released, but I'm really psyched at having the opportunity to re-visit it again.
Just have to plan some really good present's and treats for the missus before I loose my life to BG all over again lol

Holy crimoly, we can second-guess and assume until the cows come home (to Candlekeep, in need of antidote)! I'll invent some worries...

I worry that they won't be able to have any NPC's in the game and that it won't be released in the Western Hemisphere, that they include 400 layers of DRM and shift it to a First Person Shooter. Umm... Maybe I'll invent more ghosts.

Anyway, I've sort of come to believe that it will be released when it's done. If I was super worked up, I'd get it on GoG (cannot install my versions on Windows 7; the installer freezes and nothing happens). Instead, I'll wait for it to come out and then load it up.

For sure, if nothing else It's kind of worth getting excited for a version of the game that will work better on newer computers, but then they throw in a better infinity engine, new characters, new areas, new quests, fixed multiplayer, widescreen, and more with new DLC available post-ship, and now I can hardly stand the wait.

Nice DLCs can make this game live more longer time again

the delay doesnt scare me a bit. if they wanted to put it off for another year I would be ok with it (although I would be seriously bummed out). the key is they get it right...~

I don't think we'll miss the date again. 2 months is a good estimate of how much time the game needs before shipping.

    @Bytebrain

Why do I feel that ATARI and Wizards of the coast's wallet will be fatter and fatter first…
