Returning player, first time on PC version

I played the iPad version of this game several years ago when it was first released. I never bothered with the mods I previously enjoyed because there wasn't a reliable way to get things to work well at that time.
I'm playing on steam this time and am really excited. Do we have a sense of which popular mods are currently broken with 2.0 and which aren't? What mods are shoo-ins at this point, and what new toys have come out? I remember a pretty UI mod when I last played on iPad, and I remember the NPC mod among others from when I first played the game modded on PC in the 2000s.
(The sticky was last edited in 2013, so I wasn't sure if the information there was still reliable, especially with the brand new patch.)

You may be one of the first people to tell us! Yay!
I rely on bg2tweaks and BGNPCProject the most.

There's a new mod, called Tweaks Anthology, that is supposed to replace all the old tweak packs in one. You could still install the old BG2 Tweaks (yes, you run BG2 Tweaks on BG1EE, not BGTweaks), but there's little reason not to use the newest version:

Two other great mods are the NPC Project and Unfinished Business:

Best order of install of those three mods is probably NPC Project, then Unfinished Business, then Tweaks Anthology.
Vanilla BG1 NPCs are pretty silent and dull. BG1 NPC Project gives them new life by adding banters, romances (3 male and 3 female), and personal quests.
BG1 Unfinished Business adds some quests and encounters here and there that spice up mostly empty areas.
Tweaks Anthology has a bucketload of different tweaks and options that really allow you to customize the game to your preferences.
