Best way to keep weapons from BGEE Import?

Like many, I've imported my end game save from BGEE to play a continuous game to ToB. My problem is when my (CANON) party leaves and comes back later, the weapons (spider bane, etc.) are gone! Is there any way besides giving myself a bag of holding that can preserve the weapons?

Just met a previous member of my party, she still has the armor and accesories, but only a club +1. I distinctly remember her having a +2, weapons don't seem to stay. Ah well, it won't carry over into SoA anyway..,

When you exit the safehouse and move to the Ducal Palace, check the chest/dresser next to the bed. You'll find everything that was in any of your companions inventories in that chest.

That chest continues to move with you throughout the game. You'll see it in each of the camps you hit as you move through the game.

No, you haven't lost anything. If you have, please let me know what it was and who had it.

Companions seem to have lost their weapons. For example, Minsc had the Spider's Bane +2. When he rejoined, he had his armor and accessories, but only a two hand sword +1, checked the chest, nothing.

In my game, Minsc was dual-wielding a Mace+2 and the Stupefier.. And it changed to a crappy +1 two hander sword.. plus he lost the bracers of dexterity and his rings/amulets.

None of them were in the chest.

@BillyH666 and @Elendar Please, report these as bugs at http://redmine.beamdog.com/projects/bg-sod-bugs/issues, so that these problems get solved in the next patch.

Did you import into SoD or did you load the final/sarevok fight save. I've found much less inventory issues when playing through the fight and starting SoD that way.

Loaded "FINAL SAVE", interesting, will still report

My characters only returned what they were carrying in the inventory, not what they had equipped, in quick slots, etc.

Same here. Everything they had equipped seemed to stay with the characters, with the exception of Imoen (everything she was equipped with was in the chest in her room).

How do I get those items back? I want the ankheg plate armours, the longbow +2, the cloaks of protection, the helm of the noble. I definately want the Gauntlets of Ogre Power and the Honorary Ring of Sune back!

So far, I have had two NPCs rejoin me. Both have the equipment they had before.

I had to reload my BG1 final save by copying it from BG1\save to BG1\sodsave. I hit pause immediately on load and moved everything I had seen not come across for sure and some others I wasn't sure about into a bag of holding. I did the same thing before leaving the first dungeon.

Either the import function is buggy or it's needlessly cheap due to poor design. It should not be stealing your items. I used GatekeeperEE to give all my stuff back, but it's really annoying and time consuming to do this for all 6 party members.

As long as you play through the Sarevok fight none of your items will be taken. Just kill Sarevok in BG1 and all of your equipment will transfer fine.

Same here, I've got exactly same party as in BG1. Luckily I've got all of Imoen's stuff back in the chest and Mins and Dynaheir kept all their items but Jaheira and Khalid lost some really good equipment including weapons, shields, cloaks and boots which is a bit frustrating as they appear later in the game so you can't do much about it. The only options you've got really is to start new game and make sure you've got all the equipment from BG1 on main char, using console to get all of the items back or just get along with it.

Re-imported my FINAL SAVE save, this time around Dynaheir (easy to tell because ring of Evermemory) and Minsc (free action due to spider's bane) have all the stuff they were equipped with, is this bug rare, or maybe some fluke?

Imported Final SAVE, lost ALL equipped items of Yelsik, Coran and Neera

Try doing a load instead of import. I copied my BG1\save\0000002-Final Save folder over to BG1\sodsave and it loaded up in SOD. Equipment was mostly intact, although I had some issues with jewelry and some other things once and also when I left the first dungeon. Putting things in a bag of holding got them through ok though.

I played through the Sarevok fight with Minsc, Dynaheir, Imoen, Coran and Branwen.

When SoD started and we appeared in the dungeon, all those characters had the items they had in BG. However, when we finished the dungeon and went to my character's room in the castle, only the items that the party members were *carrying* went into the chest in my room - all the items they had *equipped* did not.

Since a couple of those NPCs aren't in SoD, there appears to be no way to retrieve those items.

Also, where are you getting a bag of holding?

Yeah, that's an issue, but a different one from it not transferring. ;)

Also, where are you getting a bag of holding?

You get it from the supply officer that travels with the camp. It's one of his special magic items.

C:CreateItem("bag31") from the BG1 console. :) bag31 is the only empty one I believe.

This is the exact issue that I also had.

I just loaded an slightly earlier save and unequipped everything from everyone. This transferred everything over since they were no longer equipped with anything and instead just had it in their inventory.
