Could all the stupid gamergate controversy threads please just be closed? I absolutely loved SoD, and think Beamdog knocked this one out of the park. I come on here trying to learn more about things that are off the beaten path or harder to find, or ask questions about game content and I have to wade through thousands of comments and threads about some completely contrived controversy???? Kick them out and make them take all crap somewhere else.

    It's more of a statement. Like the monk that set himself on fire as a political statement except waaaaaaay less intense.

    Don't you think it's more suited to a unified off-topic thread? They aren't talking about the game, they're taking examples from the game to talk about politics in video games and transgenderism.

    I hope I didn't just catch @Bengoshi defending the Anti-Trans threads because they somehow don't break any site rules. I really hope I read that entirely wrong.

    Same as me, try to find some information or bugs about shaman and the only thing i found 2 days is rage. I hope Beamdog just fix the FPS and environment image bugs, forget those trolls.

    I meant we can't close threads just for the sake of it. Any particular post, any particular comment, if reported, gets a look. The threads that couldn't been repaired already were moved to the holding area.

    If you want a certain thread to be moved to another area, just tell about it. If you find this or that comment inappropriate, just report it.

    Maybe you could create a SJW vs antiSJW megathread and then move any new topics there. Leave that megathread open, just on occasion warn those that are most insulting inside it.

    Team Liquid (#1 fan/esport site for Starcraft 2 and many other major esport games), which is a much bigger site than this one and has more visitors made such a megathread for balance whining. People were allowed to whine about balance in that one all day long/7 days per week but balance whining outside that topic was forbidden. It worked out very well. Everyone got a chance to use the forum for what they liked and there was no minority to spam all the topics and create new ones all the time for that which was least productive for the most of the visitors.

    I'm pretty baffled by why this is happening tbh. What causes a person to be so jaded that they concoct a controversy of this magnitude over nothing, and use it to try and destroy the beautiful creation that is Dragonspear?

    I'd personally would not like to have such a toxic thread in existence on the forum board - I have seen such threads on numerous forums and either it becomes a massive circle-jerk or the topic gets out of hand and then requires mod intervention or locking. And those users just spew back onto the board themselves. There are places where one can argue SJW vs Anti SJW till the cows come home, but I do not think a forum about a video game where you murder children of bhaal is the place for it.

    I am not saying it is called like that, but at least we contain all of them in one place and the rest of the board can be used for what it is meant to be - talking about the games Beamdog created.
    What is happening now is same like what you described but over multiple topics and as some are closed people are just opening new ones and continuing.
