How Can I Have a New Install Without Affecting My Current Installation?

A bunch of friends got BG:EE while it was on $5 sale. I bought BG:EE way back when it first came out on BeamDog.
How can I create a new fresh install of the game so I can play with friends while keeping my non-2.0 modded edition to finish up playing my outstanding games?

1. create a new folder with a name of your choosing (preferably not in Program FIles) for instance C:\\Games\Baldur's Gate 1.3
2. open your current Baldur's Gate folder, select all contents with CTRL-A, copy them (CTRL-C)
3. open the custom folder (C:\\Games\Baldur's Gate 1.3) and with CTRL-V paste all contents in here
now when you update BG, the original folder will be updated, but the custom folder will be untouched
4. launch the updated game with the normal game shortcut, but for the old custom game folder, browse to within the folder and with rightclick on Baldur.exe inside the custom folder (C:\\Games\Baldur's Gate 1.3\Baldur.exe in my example) create a shortcut to the desktop with Move to>Desktop (or choose Create Shortcut and cut and paste this shortcut to anywhere you like).
DONE!
You might want to have different save folders for the different games. Unfortunately, this can only be done by creating a separate Windows user account for each install, otherwise all saves will end up in the same folder inside Documents\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition.
so, optional steps:
5. from within Control Panel choose Users>Add user account (or whatever it's called in your language version of Windows, I'm translating from the Dutch Windows here) and create a new account.
6. log-in to your new account to finalize creating the account
7. If you start up BG (the old or the new one, which ever one you want to launch from here) from within this new account, it will have it's own Documents/Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition folder with it's own saves.
8. to start up Baldur's Gate as a different user from your regular account, just Shift-Rightclick the proper shortcut (to the version of the game you want to launch) and choose 'Open as different user'.
DONE!
