    OP makes an excellent point.

    There is also a lack of character portraits for black characters too. I don't think there is a single one to pick from, actually.

    Hey now, they always had a one black guy portrait to make their quota. BG2 throws in an Asian and a native American to branch out. Beamdog took it even further in the Enhanced editions and threw in another brother with the new portrait pack. I was hoping for at least 5brothers to choose from but I am glad the "white guilt" still functions to at least give us a new brother in the game.

    I always felt the game was very lacking in portraits, really. Since 90% of them are the NPC portraits anyway. I don't use the "taken" ones.

    Agreed. I have always used custom portraits ever since I learned that was a thing, even with NPCs. Not all of the portraits were terrible, but a lot of them just weren't to my taste.
