Rewatched the movie Red Sonia very recently. I guess that it is one of the few movies that i can actually count as "spiritually next of kin" to BG/IWD style of adventure telling.

Also Willow holds a similar place on my list (great story!)

Other titles you know of worth seeing till 30/11 comes ?

PS. D&D the movie was so crappy it's unbelieveble, even despite Jeremy Irons

The second D&D movie, while not a very good movie, does a good job of being true to the source material.

This will sound dumb, because its not like Baldur's Gate at all really, but "Children of Men" reminds me of it sometimes just because its one protagonist vs. the world, picking up people along the way to help him, in a screwed up situation, death of certain people, etc,... I dunno.

Here, I'll say this -- See "Children of Men" with Clive Owen if you haven't. It's f*cking awesome.

Children of Men is a beautiful film. As for films similar to Baldur's Gate ... no idea, I try not to watch shit films :)

    Seen Children of Men.

For those who did not see Willow yet - go forth!

An old movie : The Lord of War

that has nothing to do with fantasy world but it's a typical middle age movie, and the name of the main character is really cool : Chrysagon de la Cruex.

    Original soundtrack is beautiful too

I would add the great Ivanhoe

And of course, Conan the Barbarian, the one from 1982, the only one

Loved that old Ivanhoe, especially a cameo of Robin Hood there!

Something out of the box (not BG-like...): Flash (with soundtrack by Queen) and Barbarella. Does watching such films make me a hipster :P or am just choosing poor movies? :)
  • Ever seen "Ladyhawke" Its' great for a low-magic sort of story (not exactly big party adventure, but its a great movie)

There is a fantasy film with a scene which reminds of the final battle with Sarevok in Baldur's Gate.

I found this accidently some time back: "Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight", I haven't read the books, so it doesn't matter to me, if large parts of the story is left out as according to fans. I enjoyed it and suffered through the bad animated dragons, worth to watch to fill the void untill release.

Highlander is pretty awesome, but... if you didn't see that already, then you cannot define yourself as someone that enjoys medieval-like fantasy meets sci-fi movies. Ok, I guess they are kinda rare, but STILL!

I like Meet Me in St. Louis but it is probably more akin to ToB than BG1.

The Beastmaster (the first film) with Marc Singer. He was the actor in the original V. Excellent film - even has a story - and good special effects for the 80's. Forget Drizzt, this was the original D&D ranger.
