NPC's unable to memorize level 9 spells.

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Why can't neither Nalia or Imoen scribe scrolls of level 9? They don't have the option and their spellbook's level 9 page is blank. My CHARNAME however can scribe the scrolls with no problems.

I'm in probably my first ToB-run for over years.

    Their Intelligence score is too low. You need 18+ to learn level 9 spells...

    Thankfully there are those tasty Potions of Genius which give a temporary boost to Intelligence... And once it's learned, it stays learned.

    yep, just the initial memorisation where the int is needed.

    Potions of mind focusing, a certain ioun stone, and a certain combination of buttons in Machine of the Lum the mad will also help.
