Will my stored items disappear?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I'm storing things in a desk in the Paladin stronghold (I'm a Paladin). Will they be there forever?

    No, they will never disappear, but keep in mind that once you reach ToB you will no longer be able to return to Athkatla and will no longer be able to get at those items. I would suggest moving them to a container in Watcher's Keep because that area is the only one that is accessible in both SoA and ToB.
