Spoiler request: bard items?

Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list of bard specific items in BGEE, SoDS and BG2EE? I know of a few, but I generally ignore these in other play-throughs.

Thank you! The only other thing I can think of is the BG2:TOB bard gloves, but those come late. "Use any item" I guess makes Bard specific items a little less important. Too bad though for the young bard.

Melodic chain in BG 2, found in planar prison. Bards are also quite flexible in the way they can use any weapons...

There is a flute which is suppose to give you extra spells per day but it actually decreased the number of spells my bard can cast. Frustrating.

Yes, the flute ended up causing me problems. I think the problem is that I would cast Minute Meteor and my spells would go away (because the flute is unequipped.... How about a nice spell slotted hat or gloves? Maybe a ring like the mages get? =P

There is a Bard Hat which allows his song to linger for 2 rounds after he stops playing and protects him from things like deafness and silence spells. It takes the place of the helmet so there's a trade off. Does the Bardic Horn of Valhalla exist is SoD? It was awesome in IWD.

Also, there is the flute of the Immaculate Breeze which can cast Zone of Sweet Air twice daily for purchase, and there is a guitar thing which can cure confusion spells - Jangled Strings?

The Forest Queen's Benediction, but it requires a Wisdom of 16 (I think) and Voghiln is nowhere near that, so he can't use it. Since he seems to be the only bard around, unless you created one at the beginning, there doesn't seem to be much use to it. Oh, it's in SoD, it casts mass cure once daily, and you find it in a tree.
  • Technically, once a Bard hits epic levels, every item is a bard item.

Just like how every weapon is a Hunter weapon.

World of Warcraft joke. I'm surprise it isn't more well known.

For Baldur's Gate 1, there are a couple of interesting bard items, if you have the NPC project installed:

You can get one of the aforementioned harps in Peldvale, by talking to three NPC bards. (The exact harp you get is randomly picked from three options, so save and reload a couple of times if you want a specific harp.)

Also part of the NPC project, if you escort Garrick to the Nashkel Carnival, you start another questline that leads to a bard specific item, and it can even be upgraded in the Sorcerous Sundries.

Finally, if you romance Dynaheir, and encourage her to enchant an item, while making sure the party does not have any regular slings, spears, maces or longswords anyhwere in their inventory, and the protagonist is a Bard, she'll create an interesting Bard item.

@Thels thank you so much for this, I can't wait to try it out, especially since my squad has both Garrick and Dynaheir :)

That's not quite correct. A potion of insight will allow him to equip it, and it stays equipped until level up. It is an *extremely* useful item in SoD(for me anyway, I tend to play on harder difficulties for more challenge). Potions and other buffs and pieces of gear can be used to shoehorn gear onto characters that wouldn't otherwise be able to use it, you just gotta be creative.
