There are 4 evil options 2x arcane caster, cleric and damage melee There are 4 neutral options Fighter druid, (with jaheira being much more neutral good) mage, thief, shaman. That'quite the splash of divine castery. There are 7 good options. Heavy damage melee, cowardly melee, ranged fighter, mage, thief/cleric, monk, bard
I don'really see how you could not make a viable pure good option (especially if you are a cleric/fighter), it gets better if you splash in neutral. Sure, the few evil characters are powerful, but in no way neccesary.
Now trying to make a pure evil option is a lot more challenging, you're required to make a fighter thief, though a swashy may also work.
