New SoD Game - Imoen's gear (used canon party in BG:EE)

Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I just wanted to know if I can retrieve the gear Imoen had from my original game of Baldur's Gate?

I finished the first game earlier with the canon party to begin my first ever play-through of SoD but now Imoen has left the party to learn magic (nice touch, makes sense in terms of storyline and her BG2 build), she had some nice items on her (worn whisper stealth boots, sand thief invisibility ring etc) which I'd like to keep.

Do these items appear again in the game or can I find them somewhere?

They should be in the trunk in the upstairs room to the right of the top floor of the ducal palace. It won't follow you. Your gear (and the rest of the party's) should be in the trunk in the left side room, and it will follow you in the game in the coalition camps.

Hmm, I managed to quickly grab the items off her when I clicked continue on the start menu, this showed my party in the Bhaal temple (from the end of the first game) for a brief moment (before beginning the new game), then by tapping pause quickly I was able to access her inventory screen.

Yeah, their inventory items. Not equipped items.

I don't think that's true. It's all of their items. For example but not limited to: Evermemory Ring, Robe of the Good Archmagi, Amplifier amulet, dryad shortbow and other items she was using as dual-class Thief/Mage.

Did you let BGEE continue into SOD automatically? Or did you import a savegame manually?

Its ALL items also equipped items such as her armor and weapons, at least it was for me (FYI my game went into SOD automaticly after ending BG1EE, no manual import )

Yes, everything that was on Imoen should be in her chest.

Some of the other characters walk off with equipped gear, but not Imoen.

You should empty her chest (either to your chest or inventory) before leaving for Dragonspear. When I reached the first campsite only charname's chest was present. I had to restore the autosave file to get her things.

Not sure why they handled imoens gear differently to other npcs.I left her gear behind too before reloading the save and transferring to the other chest.

Because she is the only one with a "room" and hence reason to store all her stuff in a chest I suppose. Since she is learning magic she has no reason to wear her armour and carry a weapon. Obviously, since she isn't travelling with the army there is no reason to bring her chest along. All the others dump the junk out of their packs in your chest then potter off with whatever they are using.

So if Imoen had the Short Sword o Backstabbing and Evermemory equipped in BG1, then it will be in the chest in her room in SoD?

If I didn't collect it, will it be on Imoen in BG2?
Will she still have that extra intelligence I gave her from the Tome in BG2?

Along similar lines, do any of the stat upgrades or equipment I gave, say, Minsc carry forward from SoD to BG2, the way they did from BG1 to SoD?

No. EDIT: Applies to the BG2 questions.

    No.

Companion stats and gear have never been imported into BG2, SoD doesn't change anything there.
