Marek Lothander Poison Bug (Game Breaking)

ChippyChippy Member Posts: 241
I must have replayed BG over a hundred times over the years, I know exactly how this quest plays out, so unless Beamdog have changed something, I followed it thorough exactly up to the point where I kill Marek and am supposed to find the other half of the poison cure on his body.
Except there's no poison cure flask on his body.
There's no dialogue in the window saying I'm cured of Mareks poison as there was in the original game.

So I go to an outside area, rest, see the warning signs of poison, and sure enough after resting 10 days or so my entire party dies.

I don't really know how to finish this post - I was thinking of saying that I'd look up other reports of this bug, maybe look for Mareks poison cure in Gatekeeper, maybe look for the global variables to change, etc, etc, but I've encountered so many bugs (haven't started SOD yet) that were reported 2-4 years ago and yet to be fixed, that I'm just beyond angry and calmly realizing that these problems will likely never be fixed.

In fact - is there any point in even posting this in the first place...?

    Worked fine for me when I did a playthrough of the quest just now. Do you have a saved game from before you went to Marek?

    Did you speak to him first, or force-attack him.

    I have the iOS version and don't believe I can access the CLUA?!

    As such I think I did kill Marek when I first meet him and then have gone on to play all outside BG and completed all I could. Yes i forgot about the poison quest even after meeting Lothander in BG. As such I am pretty certain its been well over 10 days. I come back to BG and now my whole party randomly dies every so often when exploring. Assume this is to do with the Marek/Lothander Quest line, but seems odd its taken well over 10 days and now I can continue playing, but every so often I will mass suicide!

    I don't know how to fix without the CLUA! I need the antidote, I wont admit defeat yet, but it seems I may have to start at the beginning again as I don't have a save!

    @Sorilian
    Longtap the Quicksave icon for 4-5 seconds. On release it should give options such as Mail to...

    Mail it to yourself, attach the file here, and someone can either set a variable for you or console in his cure. You then mail it back to your iOS device and open with BGEE.

    @Gate70 Thanks.

    I had a ticket open with Beamdog and they asked me for my saved files, had no idea how to do it until I read this. Hopefully they can give me the cure and end the mass suicide. I am pretty sure I made this mistake back when I first played so many years ago.

    Thanks again

    Here is my save file if anyone would be kind enough to magically place the antidotes for my group into the inventory

    Looks like you may have clicked "post comment" here before the save attached
    (you may need to rename the suffix to .zip - not sure if bg1save format is accepted)

    OK @Sorilian there should be no need to edit the save. You need to complete the quest
    - Speak to Jalantha Mistmyr (Temple, South section of city)
    - Either kill her or obtain the book from the temple in the east section of the city - enter from the north-west section.
    - Return to Jalantha if alive, trade the book for the geas cure
    - Speak to Lothander (1st floor, Blade and Stars, South East section of city)
    - Kill Marek (Blushing Mermaid, northwest section of city - enter from north section)

    Hi @Gate70.

    Thats the thing, Marek isn't where he should be as force attacked him and killed him sometime ago. Done all the above and Marek is no where in the Blushing Mermaid...
