How do we embed video clips? What are new formatting instructions in general?

I'm seeing people embedding short video clips that are longer than animated .gifs . How is that done? Could someone please post the syntax or controls for it along with an example?
Also, the stickied formatting instructions are no longer valid. @JuliusBorisov , @any moderator, could we have a new formatting sticky with the instructions summary in the first post?
I think there are some new instructions in various posts in the old thread, but it's not very helpful to try to wade through nine pages of posts trying to find new information and separate it from the old, now invalid information.

Youtube videos - you just put a link, the site understands it

Other sites - for example, dailymotion - it just shows a link, doesn't put the exact video in your post.

The same goes for Twitch

But I think you're asking about gifv - it works here, see, for example https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/777896/#Comment_777896
So, gifv works fine - you just post a link and it works.
A search for "Baldur's Gate .gifv " doesn't turn up anything but one article about the new format, and assorted random BG stuff.
I wonder if anyone knows a good website for looking at .gifv files that people are making?
