Any Pointers?

I will likely be heading into the new material (aka Siege of Dragonspear) soon, can you give me any pointers or advice without spoiling anything?

Also, I've heard the EXP Cap is much higher, will I be able to transfer this new EXP cap to BG2, and will the events of SOD effect my playthrough of BG2 in any way (also without spoiling anything from SOD please)

Advice: have fun! Nothing special to take care of, just enjoy the content.

Going from SoD to BG2 will transfer xp and stats. A select few items from SoD can also be transferred, though not immediately - you'll lose them when BG2 starts, but you will be able to find them again later on in the game. If you want specifics as to which items you can find again and where, check the relevant threads. Otherwise - happy hunting! :)

That's the only thing that carries over, though. Story choices, NPC choices etc. won't matter. You'll still wake up in BG2 as you would in a new game (just with more xp most likely).

Keep your wealth in the form of gems, don't be tempted to convert them to cash unless you need it.

If you're on core difficulty or higher, keep an eye out for +3 (or higher) weapons.

Enchanted Weapon has been revised to help fill this niche. Familiarize yourself with its new functionality.
