You should have a separate account for everything credit card/paypal related and only use it for that one thing and then have a different password (written on a piece of paper in your home unless you are afraid of home invasions) for each account.
For example, I have a separate emails for my online banking, paypal, netflix, steam (gog shares), and xbox gold account. Then I have an extra one for other miscellaneous things like this message board and facebook and whatever else I don't need a credit card for. If that one gets compromised, there is no link to any financial data.
