Witcher/ Geralt of Rivia Full BG Series Roleplay Build

I'm thinking stats (stats must account for mutations): 20, 18, 20, 16, 16, 10. Class Kit (the tricky part): stalker; not sure how I would make it work. Studded leather suits Geralt, however, he uses chainmail as well. Weapons: I'm thinking single weapon style and bastard swords.

Please add your tips and suggestions.

This is a tricky one indeed.. personally I would maybe go a quite different route to make a Geralt character. I haven't played Witcher 1, so not sure if the following reasoning is in line with that game and that Geralt.

Geralt is a master sword fighter, decent "mage" and know some alchemy. He has access to fire spells, some telekinetic ones, shields, slows and persuasion/charming and if I recall correctly, they are quite similar in Witcher 2 as in Witcher 3. But feel free to correct me if I am wrong, haven't played W2 in many years.

So, with that said I see two potential ways to create a Geralt; with and without keepering

1: No modding: Geralt is a FMT with the best possible stats, 18:XX/18/18/14/10/16, except for the latter three.
STR/DEX/CON: Pretty much max, 'cause a witchers augmented powers separate him from the ordinare men (much lika a bhaalspawn). He should have 20 CON for regeneration, but you will reach that before you end the game anyways.
INT: reduced to block access to higher level spells. Geralt is no master in the signs, so we create a char with access to only level 3 spell slots.
WIS: whatever you want for your roleplay
CHA: Geralt get's a lot of women.. He's rugged, but apparently very likable.
Prof points in bastard sword because you want access to the cold iron weapons capable of killing werewolves, simulating you are weilding a witcher's silver sword. I'd also take twohand swords since that's Geralt's forte in game.
Thief points I would mainly use for detect illusions since Geralt isn't really a thief. I've added the T in FMT because of the HLA's the thief gets which is the closest thing to the withcer's alchemy the game can offer. Geralt doesn't really use stealth, so I would refrain from using that and backstabs.
Use the elven chainmail when you get it and studded leather before that.

2: some modding: Geralt is a multiclass FM, everything same as above, but mod in the HLA's for thief and possible use items that are otherwise unavailable wihtout UAI, such as a particular greatsword. Maybe add in GM in twohand swords to simulate Geralt's prowess with swords.

2: some more modding: Geralt is a Mage level 6 dualed into a wizard slayer, with UAI to let you equip items otherwise unaccessable. Add in favoured enemies as a ranger, as many as you want, but ONLY monster types! Add in resistances to magic like charms etc, but restrict your magic usage to level 3 spells. You will be OP, but witchers kinda are anyways. Also add in 20 CON for natural regeneration of HP and whatever else might fit with the character.

Why level 3 spells only for all of the above?

Level 3 spells offer blur to increase your AC etc, you get haste, you get slow, you get PfNM to simulate Geralt's ability to parry bolts and arrows, you get some charms to simulate Geralt's persuasion skills, you get a couple of fire spells to simulate Agni signs etc. If you go above level 3 you'll start to become more of a mage then a fighter with some signs, so I think it's a good trade-off level.

    Why not stalker?

Stalker's are made for stealth and BS, as well as you mention yourself, studded leather. We want Geralt to use chain mails, twohand swords (mainly), cast some minor magic and be very anti monsters. The only thing that the ranger class offers are favoured enemies, which is very good for a witcher, but the cons in this case outweigh the pro's, in my humble opinion.

    Cheers!

Wait, I don't remember sending Geralt to Forgotten Realms... what's he doing there?

@God, you're getting old, tired and prolly need a vacation. Can I advice you making me @SkatanAlmighty?

I am on vacation. Underpaid Indian contractors handle everything. Next time you see zombies around, don't worry. They won't eat your brains, they just want you to watch their Kathakali dance and maybe sing along.

I also think Stalker seems fine for all the hunting and sneaking in wilderness and city. Elf or half-elf gives him the night vision (I mean. technically, Viconia isn't a drow, either) . Geralt can see in the dark without potions, can't he?

I would disagree strongly with 16 CHA - honestly, even 10 seems too high. Witchers are mutants with clear physical deformities (such as cat's eyes) who are viewed with fear and disgust by the general populace. They work alone, make few friends, and are scarcely welcomed anywhere except as hunters-for-hire.

By the end of the series, Geralt had friends all over the place, but that's a product of his reputation and deeds rather than personal magnetism. Most of the women he ends up with are themselves outcasts, deviants, or supernatural creatures of some sort (and I don't think that the game's core romances are CHA-dependent anyway, so penalizing him in that category won't leave him uncharacteristically lonely). If you're trying to be faithful to the source material, Geralt should have a major disadvantage when it comes to people's first impressions of him, so I'd give him a 6 or 7 in the CHA department.

I knocked his charisma down to 8.

    Geralt's Biography:

    I hate portals.

    XD

Depending on how I roleplay it, there will either be no romance, or I'm thinking a Viconia or Jaheira romance (they are the most like Yennefer), though Neera would be the closest to Triss.

I should add that I'm sticking with stalker, the spells for fighter mage are too powerful for a humble witcher's bag of tricks. I think a ranger class is closer to a witcher, in lore, fighting and equipment. Rangers hunt in the wilderness for creatures and animals that threaten people, they use medium and light armors, are skilled in types of combat that best suit fighting said creatures, and they don't have to worship a deity. Geralt himself believes in nature not in gods. Paladins are too heavily armored, they have a racial enemy and fight for a god who bestows them with divine spells.
