At Killraven, I love your Xzar and Monty, although, I never realized that halflings were supposed to be that short and small! I guess I am influenced by the Lord of the Rings movies, where the halflings appear to be very short, stout, but otherwise normal-looking to within two standard deviations of human. About stomach or lower-chest height to Gandalf, but not below-waist height, as you picture it.
P.S. - I also love your comparison of this duo to the Joker and the Penguin. Come to think of it, the late, great Burgess Meredith with a short sword/umbrella would make a great Montaron.
* Sharr-Teel - Needs bracers, greaves and other protective items on legs and arms. It's fine to show brazen tats, but this is a warrior and needs to look the part
can you make the 3 new ones? (dorn rasaad and Nera) and i wonder how much time it takes to make one...seems like so much effort.
Sure I can! Right now the things I am already progressing through are: 1) Make the NPC portraits with the backgrounds 2) Make some adjustments suggested by the forum guys (like give each cleric a symbol, enlarge Minsc size, etc... I got everything noted down) 3) Make Arkanis and the other minor NPCs 4) Make the ToB characters 5) Makes Battle scenes with the NPCs 6) Make some generic portraits for PC use 7) Keep Aerie fat and happy
I think the new NPC You suggested could indeed have a higher priority since the launch date is getting near, so I'll switch to work on them
Depending on how complex the NPC is and on how much happy I am with the result... it might take from 4 hours to some months. Neera is the easiest (I might use an early Nalia with different hair and face), the Monk is the hardest for his face tattoo (I would like to have some patterns to work with) and the clothing.
Note: I do not do 3D modeling, just composition of existing models... but for some complex figures like Korgan I had to also do some 3D modeling (his beard, I had no models available for it): I have some limitation for this... otherwise I would mirror canon D&D art 1:1, but it would really take forever. I am an engineer and this is only a hobby: in real life I work with MS word and excel, not even with technical 3D CAD. So, next in the pipeline will be Neera, the blackguard and then the monk...
Storywise it would actually make sense..but i just had the portrait + concept art in Mind but i just looked at the new screenshots and the took most of the red light away from the portrait ( http://www.baldursgate.com/images/media/screenshots_nov22/Screen12.png ) and they even made her yellow....(at least in the actual CHAR form) but i guess you dont have to be so strict its more about what color suits her Personality best...
Could you give Dorn a Claymore? ( I think with his low constitution no one one would use him as tank anyway...) but the Armor looks really good. I would say he looks ugly but thats more of a compliment, because I know that the half orcs actually look way more beasty than portrayed in Baldurs Gate
@Killraven, wow, I like your Rasaad a lot better than theirs. If he looked like that, I'd take him along in my party despite how I feel about his class.

i agree with that, I like that style a lot more too but he needs to be a bit more intimidating.
thats not quite what i meant hahahaha..... do you know the game Arcanum? i think then it would actually work, beause they have explosives and orcs I mean of course a 2h Sword

That's certainly a magical item we can give Dorn in BG2.
LOL That's great news, for the powergaming opportunity, for the possibilities related to some development of a certain "pantaloon" affaire and most of all for the hinting at BGIIee!!

yes, maybe in older D&D versions and AD&D they were more Tolkien-like
I took the 3.5PHB as reference

I am inspired...
Out of all of them, I think I like the Branwen one the best - I think it perfectly captures her essence as a noble, fearless warrior-priest.
I think Coran, Eldoth, Garrick, Nalia, Safana, and Shar-Teel also do great jobs of accurately recreating the characters as portrayed in the game.
Likewise, I think you did an equally great job of re-imagining Faldorn, whose essence is not so clearly defined in the game as the others.
My only complaint: you made Khalid look way too cool. ;-)
You mean, exactly what Nalia is?
