How to remove the effect of wand of polymorphing

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Hi,

I changed some companions into squirrels using the wand of polymorphing. However, I have no clue how to change them back. Dispel Magic doesn't work and the transformation seems to be permanent.

    Thanks, Dispel Magic worked after several attempts.

    Nope. Seems to be similar to my mage's spell. I was very surprised about that.
