Black Screen Character Import BGEE2

Hello,

Fresh install from the steam client. When importing a character/save game from BGEE or from BGEE2 the game loads up but the screen is black. I cannot see the cursor or anything. I can hear sound. When I press 'M' it brings up a little bit of a map and shows my character getting attacked by something. No mods or anything. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

    If on Windows, could you attach a directx diagnostic report please. You should be able to drop the file into the Leave a Comment text box here or use the attach image/file icon.
    (Windows/R, type dxdiag, click OK, let it run, save all information)
