EEKeeper hangs indefinitely when indexing resources (SCS, BG2EE, OSX)

Hi all!

I'm curious to see if anybody else has hit this... I'm running BG2EE v2.3.67.3 (GOG) on OSX Sierra, and AstroBryGuy's EEKeeper for OSX v1.0.3.2 was running fine, until I installed SCS.

After modding, EEKeeper hangs forever in the "Indexing Resources" initial popup, and is therefore unusable. I also tried later versions of the EEKeeper, even the latest Windoze one with WineBottler, with no luck...

Has anybody run into this, or knows how to fix this? Thanks!

I'm running into this too. How to fix it? No clue.

It's triggered by a large number of files in the override folder. If you pack all your modded files in a DLC container using @argent77 's Dlcbuilder mod, and use this DLC instead of the override folder, EEKeeper works fine.

Does anyone know if Keeper works with SCS on Windows? If not, that's something I can look into. :-)

    Thanks for your replies!

@Troodon80 I have tried the windows version, however I did try it on OSX using wine/winebottler.

@StefanO thanks, this sounds promising, I think I'll try it out...

@cryobacterium If you merely want to reduce the number of files in the override folder I would prefer Generalized Biffing instead. It installs much faster and does basically the same as DlcBuilder in your case.

The problem with Generalized Biffing is:

Nobody describes what is does. There isn't even a ReadMe. It changes the content of your data folder. It's unchanged for years. It does not claim to be EE ready.

But, @argent77 is right, after biffing EEKeeper works.

@argent77, thanks!! Generalized Biffing worked like a charm :)

That... doesn't really help me track down the issue of why Keeper hangs, though. But it's a start. Can I get a list of mods (or modules from SCS) that have been installed? I'm still trying to track down the problem. :-)

@Troodon80, as far as mods are concerned, only SCS was installed. However, it's hard now to recall which components of it I had installed... I know that I didn't install anything BG specific, as I had already completed the first game once I installed the mod. Is there a way to find which components have been installed?

Consider to upgrade the EEKeeper to 1.0.3.6. The update solved my indexing problem.
