Constant crashes on Mac while travelling

I've been experiencing crashes when travelling on mac intermittently for a few days now, but its got a lot worse today and it's making the game unplayable. I can occasionally travel when going to a new edge of the map but generally speaking whenever I click the area I want to travel to it dumps me to desktop.

I'm playing BG:EE purchased through the app store, unmodded, and I've tried saving to a new slot several times and it's not helped. I've read a couple of posts saying that clearing the cache helps but none outline where this actually is on Mac, only on PC, and I cannot find it anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Please go to Options -> Sound within the game and disable Ambient volume, and advise if that helps.

    It has indeed, thankyou! Glad there was such a simple fix - hopefully it's permanent too.
