So my security service warned me that there was a trojan associated with BGSOD and asked to remove it saying it wouldt damage my files but now it says that BGSOD is in preload complete mode. Anybody else have this experience? Tips?

With what client are you dowloading BG:EE+SoD?

The preload complete mode would be because your security service has specifically deleted the executable.

Is there anyway of reloading without losing my save game files?

Your saves are in Documents, while your game is in another place.

Try using Legacy launchers and the old Client. https://www.beamdog.com/about/client_legacy
